Christ Focused

As people in general, we do a lot of things throughout our entire lives. But the question we need to consider is why do we do the things that we do? As God's very own, we need to keep in mind that the Lord is concerned about what we do, but we must also realize that He is equally concerned about why we do what we do. We all need to examine our motives.

In the Book of Hebrews, the Hebrew writer gives us instructions on maturing our walk in the Lord. So many believers find themselves in the same place year after year with no real growth in their faith or relationship with God. This lesson lays out 5 steps that if taken will help to mature your walk with Christ by moving you from the bottle to strong meat.

At some point in our Christian journey, we must realize that we are in the midst of a war. It's not a physical war, but it is a spiritual war. As soldiers of Jesus Christ, we must be prepared for battle at all times. Therefore, we need to adorn the whole armor of God so that we can stand against the tactics of our spiritual foes.

We were created to bring glory to God. In fact, the word of God tells us in all that we do we should do it to the glory of God. When we are in corporate worship we are there to worship God, to give to God, and not to get for ourselves. True worship is all about God and God alone. Why? Because he is worthy! So, Give God the Glory.

In a world cursed by sin and filled with hatred and violence, there is the love of God. Our world has seen its share of conflict be it personal, cultural, racial, social, political, etc. But in the midst of all the hate, violence, and unrest there stands the love of God which is clearly seen in our Lord Jesus Christ. We choose to hate. We choose to forgive. But today I choose love.

How long will we allow the trials of life to keep us bound? So many of us have experienced hurt, pain, betrayal, and the like, and although these experiences are painful and the memories remain we need to realize that in Christ Jesus we have been set free. No longer do we need to be prisoners of the moment; past, present, or future. Therefore, if the Son shall make you free you are free indeed.

One of the hardest things for a believer to learn is simply to believe. But having faith in God is not as easy as it may sound. As believers in Christ, we must grow our faith. Growing faith is not an overnight thing but it is a process of time and discipline. Trials come to test the faith of every believer.  We must use these trials as an opportunity to grow our faith in the Lord.

The Word of God teaches us that fear brings torment. Yet fear is a feeling and an emotion that we all have dealt with at one time or another. But in the Gospel of Mark 11:22, Jesus says Have faith in God! As believers in Jesus Christ, we must overcome fear by trusting in the word and promises of God. Have faith, not fear!
