Our last lesson we focused on the fact that "Jesus Christ has come in the flesh" (1John 4:1-3). In this second lesson, we want to build on that as we look at John’s view of Jesus in a more general way.

In this lesson from the first letter of John, we look at how John deals with the idea that Christ came in the flesh —in other words the “human nature” of Christ.

Here in this fifth and final lesson, James talks to us about our troublesome tongues. Christian communication ought to embody truth, grace, and love, underscoring the significance of language in fostering positive relationships and honoring God.

Just the very thought of enduring trials may be difficult for many. But the truth is that we all will have to deal with something one way or another and one day or another.

We are continuing an examination of the letter of James. In our first lesson from this letter, we discussed Justification by faith and works. In this lesson we will consider James's views regarding money, and our attitude toward money, addressing three specific aspects.

Salt, and light have properties that make them very apt symbols of the Christian. Now as we consider these properties, let each of us do an introspective examination to see if we measure up.

Using this church of Sardis in the book of Revelation, as an example: We are going to learn about some things to avoid so that we can be sure to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church.
