Christ Focused

The church is not a place to be entertained. The church of Jesus Christ is "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). We should look to God’s church to hear and receive God’s truth taught and defended from the Scriptures —not psychological "hype" or human idealism.

Jesus is not just one of many good teachers, or just one of many great Lights. He is the one Lord and Christ and made the only sacrifice to take away sins. No one else will do, none but Jesus, crucified and risen (Acts 2:36).

People will say that there are many great lights in the world. They are the teachers who have given the world great insights. That may be so, but that is not true when people count Jesus as one among the many. He is the "only Mediator between God and man" (1Timothy 2:4-6)

Some things taught in the Bible are hard sayings, and people do find them hard to hear. The truth is not always soft and easy. Sometimes, it is hard and difficult, but it still needs to be believed and taught. This lesson examines the coming retribution of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we conclude our lesson on apostasy, we look to the writer of Hebrews. In these closing words, we warn of falling away through neglect of the word of God, yet exhort all to press on to perfection. This final lesson runs longer but truly defines what apostasy is and what it is not. I truly hope you are blessed and edified.

In this lesson, we examine the factors behind Solomon's sin and fall from glory. We notice his excess, disobedience, neglect, and several faults—a negative approach perhaps, but nonetheless very instructive.

We are continuing our study on apostasy. In this lesson, we examine 1 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1-6, observing the falling away and the false teachers. So many have sat under the lie for so long that they cannot distinguish between truth and error. So many have allowed blind guides to lead them, not realizing that they are both heading straight for the pit.

What is it that characterizes you as a believer in Jesus Christ? Believers in Jesus Christ will remain believers in Jesus Christ. Believers do not quit, they do not put their hand on the plow and look back, but they possess an unfailing faith, and although imperfect, their faith remains steadfast and perseveres to the end.
