This study is about how the New Covenant was instituted. We will see that the new covenant came through a unique mediator, from a unilateral origin, with universal application.

In this lesson, we ask, “What sort of covenant was this new and better one?” To answer that question, we need to consider that covenants come in three different kinds of styles.

One of the most well-known statements of the Christian faith is the Lord’s Prayer, which begins with the words “Our Father which art in heaven.” This is part of the universal treasury of the Christian faith. But is God the Father of all? In this lesson, we examine the question is God my Father?

Christ has authority over all humankind to mediate his new covenant that can give life to all human beings. He does this by virtue of his blood sacrifice for all humankind, and by preaching (spreading) the gospel throughout the world.

To be in a relationship with the God of all creation is simply mind-boggling. But it is also awesome, wonderful, and inspiring to know that the God of all creation desires this relationship. He desires it so much that he established an everlasting covenant with us through the sacrifice of his only son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The gospel is "God’s power for salvation. This lesson from the book of Romans, tells of three kinds of power in the gospel —the power to enlighten, the power to save, and the power to establish. Let’s look at each one of these, for the gospel is the power.
