Here in this lesson, James teaches us how works are associated with justification. James is saying that we cannot be saved by FAITH ALONE. Faith must be perfected by works. 

Christians who have true faith have confidence, assurance, boldness, fearlessness, and know for certain what they believe is absolutely true. They are obedient to the commandments of God, and they don't practice sin but righteousness and purity. Faith is the victory

 

Over the centuries, there have been notable departures from God and genuine faith. These departures were intentional; they altered the grace of God into licentiousness and called upon the faithful to uphold the true faith. Jude references three historical examples to highlight this (Jude 1:4-7).

Although his letter is short, less than an average Bible chapter, Jude is serving a very important service in writing it. We cannot have too many warnings urging us to defend the beliefs handed down by the apostles. We must defend and earnestly contend for the faith.

One of the many "beatitudes" spoken by our Lord was, "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet have believed". Jesus said this after his crucifixion and resurrection, when he came into the midst of his disciples and showed himself alive from the dead.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says that he is going back to heaven to prepare a place for his disciples; and that he will come again to take them there. (John 14:1-6).

To say that the Lord’s coming will be like a thief in the night; what does that really mean? To help us understand this statement, let us consider for a moment how Christ’s coming is not like a thief in every way, but only in one respect.

Proverbs 29:18 underscores the vital role of divine revelation in guiding individuals and societies. Because Without God’s Word, people lose direction, self-restraint, and purpose, leading to chaos and spiritual death. Conversely, embracing and obeying God’s law brings joy, stability, and fulfillment.
